A Drop of Grief
by
Katrina Sweeney

Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, all Elise wants is a normal childhood,

but with her mother, it’s impossible.

As Elise struggles to free herself from the bondage of her mother’s chains,

she meets people along the way who bring hope and love and help.

Will their influence be enough to help conquer her circumstances?

And what are the dark forces that seem to threaten her no matter where she goes…?

 You shall not have

                 one half a

drop of grief

more

                                    than is necessary

                                                           for your good and

God's glory.

Charles Spurgeon

Rob Wright has it all.  He lives in Bayport, New Jersey, a wealthy town along the Bayshore.

The girls think he’s sweet but shy; he’s incredibly artistic, and he’s certainly athletic enough.

His parents are great, and his older brother improves with age.  But he has so many questions, and even his parents don’t know all the struggles that go through his mind, or his secret hopes and dreams.

The only place he feels like himself is on the open water of the Raritan Bay or the quiet backwaters of the local marsh.

Will Rob find answers in the

secretive marsh?

And will Elise be able to leave her

past behind?

About the Author

Katrina Sweeney and her three siblings grew up on a small farm along the edges of an undeveloped park in southern York County, Pennsylvania. In that wild country, they hiked, explored, and learned about the outdoors. Life at home was difficult, and Katrina struggled for many years questioning her existence, the reason why life was so hard, and how a good God could allow such things to occur. Writing and storytelling was always a part of her own healing, and Elise and Rob’s story was just waiting to come to life. The first in a series, Katrina is excited to use her gifts, experience, and knowledge to lead hurting people to wholeness and new life.  She is hard at work on the second book in the series, Closer Than A Brother.

Katrina lives in the little town of Keansburg on the shores of the Raritan Bay near Sandy Hook,  New Jersey, and she can see the New York City skyline from her home. Her neighborhood is full of marshes and she grew up kayaking. She loves to garden, hike, and ride or walk through the beautiful, open spaces of the Henry Hudson Trail and the parks of New Jersey. Katrina lives with Bob, her husband of twenty-nine years, and their daughter Grace.
